Through funding from the Grundtvig initiative for adult education Watershed were able to run an innovative workshop for older people from across Europe to learn about digital media and to experience cutting-edge technology for themselves. Fourteen participants (all aged over 50) from Turkey, Romania, Portugal, Slovenia, Italy, Iceland, Greece, France, Netherlands and the UK, visited Bristol to create an AppFurnace sound walk, around Bristol’s historic Harbourside.
Through a series of hands-on activities, the participants learnt storytelling techniques and developed practical skills such as recording and editing audio. They were also given an overview of AppFurnace and how it would be used to create the final app Reflections at the Waterside.
